■ HAUNTED HOUSES | 2016-2019
■ Oct 2019 | Press Photo. Pictured out side 2019's Haunted House.
■ Pictured with me is my better half, Karen.
■ Welcome to my little world of Ghost Trains, Haunted Houses and Spooky Prop Building. If you're interested in haunted house/prop building, and putting on Halloween displays/haunts each year, then this is the area of Halloween UK you need to read!
■ Luckily I've carefully documented all the haunt props that I made, and through a LOT of experimentation and a LOT of trial and error, I managed to pull it off and scare people and raise a fair amount of money for the local stroke unit in Colchester.
■ The Pandemic sort of killed it off in 2020, and at present there are no plans to bring back a full on walk through haunt, but there are plans, and you never know!
■ Ghost Trains and Haunted Houses are my absolute fascination. Always have been. To have been able to put on a haunt from 2016-2019 was absolutely a dream come true. It was a heck of a lot of time, money and effort, but so worth it.
■ The Haunts went from a simple tent structure in 2016 no bigger than 3mx3m to 2019's 6mx4m large enclosure with live actors inside. It barely fit in our garden, but it was so worth it to see it in action on Halloween night!
Below are the main highlights of all our haunts with a few stories, along with some social media and charity news. We promise we will do it all again one day, in the meantime, check out my live stream channels!
■ OCT 2017 | WHAT WAS THAT?!
■ WORKING LATE WOULD GET CREEPY!
■ What was that?! Many a night was spent outside at 1-2am working on wiring, lighting. I can tell you the mind plays tricks on you with all the statues and horror props, lol.
■ Eventually, it got to the point where it didn't bother me, haha. This photo was taken on a late monday night when I was out late working.
■ I only had my phone light some nights, until I got better lighting. I would also have a radio/music playing as I found I could work quicker. Almost always, out of the corner of my eye, I would think that I'd seen something move lol.
■ 2019 HAUNT | THE BIGGEST AND BEST ONE YET
■ WE WENT ALL OUT FOR 2019...
■ We had to keep the haunt in 2019 open from October 4th to November 5th due to the thousands of viewers.
■ Luckily, I documented every prop build, haunt build (dont' speak to me about building roofs!) the electrics, cabling, and all points in between. We definitely went out with a bang and a scream!
■ The main aim of the haunts was to raise money for charity. Notably Colchester Stroke Unit. 2019's haunt got the attention of the local press, radio and Ipswich & Colchester Hospitals Charity. We had the official charity buckets, promotional material and lots more. Thank you guys!
■ This website section will slowly evolve to show all the prop building work and more. I will bring this site to life with these pictures and happy memories.
